Biography

I have been playing guitar for many years and in this time I have used my experience to teach others in the discipline. I have also used my other expertise in recording and music history etc to use in lessons. I have been teaching now for over 5 years and this has given me a great foundation to be able to interact with individuals from all ages as well as groups in an educational environment. Though my experiences I have been able to create a programme that is personal to the individual as well as using the Rock School Exams to give the student an option to do graded exams. With my experience of teaching I have written my first Guitar playing guide called The Easy Guitar Handbook which will be available soon. I have also gone on to gain many qualifications such as ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory which is used to strengthen my knowledge in music. Throughout my music career I have gained much experience in recording live music as well as performance. In Recording I have used programs such as Q base, Pro Tools and Pro Logic. I have engineered and recorded on other’s projects as well as my own, Through this I have set up my own record label Earmechanics Records ©. This is label is used to record local bands so that they can gain experience in recording and which then becomes a stepping stone to performing in local venues. Through my performing I have played in many bands mainly in the contemporary genre of music and have played many venues including the Hackney Ocean. I have also had experience in session recording on a multitude of artist’s records. As well as this I have played guitar in amateur theatre productions. These productions include Grease and Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins which I also have credits for the sound effects design and most recently recorded Sound effects for the production of Bitchin’ Logic by Stacy Lamb
